Old world charm
My wife and I spent the evening here on our way through town and loved our experience. We’ve eatten at their restaurant next door on several occasions and have wanted to stay in the hotel for quite some time, so happy to finally make it happen. The keyless entry and check in made the process super easy and convenient for us as we were on a bit of an odd schedule. The room was a special one, tall ceilings, beautiful lighting, and eclectic decor throughout. We really enjoyed our time there and plan on visiting again as soon as wel can!

Old world charm
My teenage daughter and I enjoyed a little staycation here. Our room was cozy and comfortable. The furnishings were nice and the bed was comfortable. My daughter especially loved the jacuzzi tub after a long day walking around town. We loved playing board games in the common room and the ice and water were wonderful to fill our bottles before heading out to explore. It felt more like a home away from home than a hotel for sure! Noise was inevitable from upstairs guests, but is to be expected in an historic building, don’t let that deter you from staying at the Peerless! We would stay again in a heartbeat.

Newly Minted Peerless Fan
Luxurious and full of quirky details is how I'd best describe the Peerless. The decor is a surprisingly satisfying blend of antiques and Dynasty-style furnishings--imagine a 1980s doyenne with a love of leopard print upholstery and black sheets shopping Queen Victoria's estate sale--and the soft, moody lighting is absolutely divine. The bathroom was a real highlight for me, too, with its jacuzzi tub and orange-mint bubble bath. This hotel was assembled with love and imagination, and I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. P.S. If you can swing it, bring a lover.

The Peerless was dreaming
My husband and I had the most wonderful day in this space. My only regret is that I couldn’t stay longer.

Interesting, quirky place to stay going to the OSF. I'll consider Peerless on my trip next year.
Positive: The location was very convenient for walking to the Shakespeare Festival plays. Also, it is relatively close to the Safeway and has both the Peerless Restaurant and a large coffee shop next door.
Negative: There was not a table that could be used to do anything practical on. A table to sit at for a coffee or a snack would have been helpful.

Nice to experience once, won't be back though
Positive: The atmosphere is really cool. Loved all the antiques, the photos, and the decor. By text and phone owner very responsive to my questions.
Negative: For such an interesting place, it is a shame no one is there to welcome you. It distracts from the experience, IMHO. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. Given it's an old building, the AC was centrally controlled. It was chilly in our room on the bottom floor.

Cool and Comfortable; Terrific Location!
Positive: The location is top notch with Noble Coffee Roasters a couple of doors down and easy walking into town for dining or OSF theater. The parking was plentiful in front or in the back of the hotel. The air conditioning during the 110+-degree week was terrific. The ice and filtered water in the common room were a welcome perk every day. The bathroom was very spacious, and the 12-foot ceilings and ceiling fan gave the room a feeling of luxury. The wine glasses, bottle opener, and prosecco split were a nice romantic touch for our anniversary celebration weekend. The quick response when we had to request a water jug refill for the water dispenser was very much appreciated.
Negative: The sound of the upstairs footfalls was surprisingly loud and elephant-like. Not sure if the upstairs neighbors were just walking normally or unusually heavy footed. We would have liked more surface areas for things like toiletries, electronics, play programs, shopping goodies, etc. It would have been nice to have one trashcan in the bedroom and one in the bathroom.

Gorgeous room!
The Peerless is just that: Peerless! This is the fourth time I've stayed here and I'll continue to come back again and again. I highly recommend a stay in this exquisitely decorated, well appointed place.
