SPECIAL is the word that instantly comes to mind when describing our stay at the Peerless hotel. I can’t wait I’ll our Positive: SPECIAL & LOVED. Those are the words I’d use to describe not only our accommodations but also the entire property. Everything was done to bring the property to life and show the property in its authentic state, which I’d use the first 2 words mentioned as the best way to describe it. It felt like a home you don’t want to leave but also one you always want to go back to. We are already planning our next trip back. Negative: We enjoyed everything about our stay. The entire hotel had character and charm and the location was walkable to everything we wanted. We met the manager and could see the reason everything was so well taken care of and special. There was nothing we didn’t like.

Perfect little hotel

We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite at the Peerless Hotel and it was perfect. The room was beautifully decorated and both roomy and cozy. The jacuzzi bath was lovely. There's a wonderful coffee shop right next door, a delicious Mexican cafe just around the corner, and the Railroad District where the hotel is located is so cute and just blocks away from all the Ashland downtown goodness. The hosts were responsive and helpful and we would definitely stay there again. The only thing I would note is that the staircase is quite narrow, so the upstairs rooms might not be ideal for those with mobility issues or very large suitcases.

Happy Mystery Festers

Our stay at the Peerless was great! It is a very quiet hotel, which was actually surprising due to the creaky old floors. Though the creaky floors add to the charm of this historic hotel. Our room was very nice and well taken care, it was also a very spacious suite. The separate sitting room with fireplace was my wife's favorite area, in the evening she liked sitting in there and reading before bed. Just as an FYI our honeymoon suite had Wi-Fi but did not have a TV, though this did not bother us. Also, it is important to know this is an old hotel so there is not an elevator. The stairs are a little steep and narrow so beware if you book a room on the 2nd floor (rooms 3 and up) getting luggage upstairs may be difficult for some, but it was worth it. We stayed here during Mystery Fest and even though I was worried it may be a little too far away from many of the activities it turned out to be a great place to stay because of how peaceful it was after a long day of adventures. We stayed at another hotel last time that was right in the middle of everything which looks nice on the outside, but it was very loud during the night from the pipes, and the room was small. We will definitely be staying at the Peerless again.

A gorgeous property but needs serious help with amenities, care, and service Positive: The building was gorgeous and right next to a truly phenomenal cafe. The bed was really comfortable. Negative: The coffee is a huge disappointment. "Gourmet coffee" in the morning is so not the reality. They have a home coffee pot that they set on a timer to go off at 7 am. They don't offer real cream or milk to go with it -- just powdered creamer. Really lousy coffee in the room, too. Half the lights in my room had burned-out lightbulbs. The towels smelled moldy.

Positive: Love the historic building, ease of arrival and departure, amenities, and location
